Skateboarding Policy


The University has a no tolerance policy for skateboarding anywhere on campus. Skateboarding is strictly prohibited anywhere. Violators may be issued warning citations, be referred to Judicial Affairs for student discipline, and/or be issued a court citation having a fine of approximately $180 dollars. Biking on Campus

Bike Racks

Biking is allowed on campus, however there are designated no biking zones "Dismount Zones". Students are allowed to walk their bicycles in these Dismount Zones. Violators may be issued warning citations, be referred to Judicial AffairsOpens in new window for student discipline, and/or be issued a court citation having a fine of approximately $180 dollars.   1. Bicyclists must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, exercise due care and use reasonable caution at all times while operating a bicycle, and not obstruct or limit access to University facilities when leaving a bicycle unattended.
  2. Pedestrians have the right-of-way at all times.
  3. Bicycles may not be ridden in posted dismount areas (Map of Bike Routes and Dismount ZonesPDF File Opens in new window ), campus buildings or parking structures; over shrubbery; or on grass. However, bicycles may be ridden in posted dismount areas either for instructional purposes or whenever parking fee regulations are not enforced.
  4. The Director of EH and IS will create guidelinesPDF File Opens in new window for storing or parking a bicycle on campus. Bicycles may not be parked or stored inside a classroom/laboratory or in a manner that impedes use of a campus walkway or an entrance/exit of a building, office or other area.
