Home / Work Protection Checklist:
Know your area's flood risk. If you're unsure, call your local emergency management office.
Discuss what to do in case of flooding. Remind family members to monitor the radio for evacuation notices and closure of highways and schools.
Post emergency telephone numbers for school, work and your out of state contact. Let your out of state contact be aware of who will be calling.
Show family members how and when to turn off water, gas, and electricity at the main switches.
Create a home disaster kit containing: first aid kit, battery-powered radio, flashlight, rubber boots and ponchos, three day's supply of bottled
water (one gallon per person, per day) and canned food. Develop a mini disaster kit for your vehicle.
Know the evacuation routes to your work area at the university.
Use 911 to report life-threatening emergencies. Please do not tie up phone lines to University Police, Physical Plant, or the Vice President's
offices requesting information.
