The Community Service Officer Program was founded in March of 1989. The program initially employed fifteen student employees to perform basic public services to the campus community. Since the program's inception, hundreds of students have worked in the CSO program. Many have pursued a career in law enforcement to include the local, state, and federal levels after graduating CSUF.
Law enforcement goals are not and have never been requirements for working in the CSO program. Community Service Officers are accepting of a wide range of majors including: accounting, advertising, law, health care, teaching, arts, etc.
