Who are we?

The Community Service Officers (CSO) are student assistants employed by the University Police Department. The CSO Unit is supervised by a Police Corporal and is a component of the Administrations Division of the University Police Department

What does a CSO look like?

The CSO program is a reflection of the diversity of the student population of the campus community.  The uniform of a CSO is a gray polo shirt with the California State University Police Badge embroidered on the left front, their name embroidered on the right front, and the words "Community Service Officer" in bold, gray lettering outlined in white on the back.   The uniform for a CSO supervisor is a light blue button-down shirt with California State University Police patches and a CSO badge.

CSOs occasionally wear a black jacket  with the California State University Police Badge embroidered on the left front and the words "Community Service Officer" in bold, gray lettering outlined in white on the back.
